Its body made of metal. Seems very robust. Became my favorite in the light spinning. I can recommend it. This review is from: Wright & McGill Skeet Reese Spinning Reel (Sports) Absolutely my favorite reel I've owned to date. This reel has 10 ball bearings, it casts a mile, it's the smoothest reel I've ever used, and it looks like a $300 reel. And my favorite part? The drag sounds AMAZING when it's being pulled out by bigger fish. I used to like fishing for snapper on shallow wrecks in my kayak, but I think I'm going to have to target some bigger tarpon just do hear that BBZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTT of the reel.
