Great Reel, June 21, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Shimano Solstace Front Drag Spinning Reels (Misc.) Really Great Reel for the money. I primarily use this reel for fly and rind fishing for Small mouth bass. The high speed pickup is great and the feel of the reel is a perfect match for my M6 6'6" rod from Bass pro shop.
I have worn out several spining reels in my 40+ years of angeling and this is a Keeper reel. I fish year around and it will sure get it's use. My son had one for 4 years and it is still working great that's what sold me on this reel. I purchased it through Amazon and got great responce from them. "Good Work Amazon" lets go fishing...

I bought the 2500 model as a replacement for my cheap walmart reel, which broke after about a week of use, and I am very pleased with my purchase. This is the first reel I have bought that wasn't part of a $20-$30 rod/reel combo and it was worth the money, It cast's farther, it has a very solid construction, large handle for easy cranking, and the gear ratio makes for a quick retrieval. It's a little heavier than the reels I'm used to but all in all a great reel.
