I liked it so much, I bought another one a few months later. The large paddles and bowed handle make for an extremely comfortable retrieve with any kind of bait. It's incredibly light for it's strong construction, and has great pulling power. This reel is an excellent investment for any fisherman dreaming of a nice, smooth, strong addition to your favorite rod.
The casting power of the Pflueger Patriarch lacks compared to the rest of the qualities, and would be beaten 9/10 times by a super caster like a Quantum, but you can't go wrong jigging a 1/2oz. through thick cover or when launching your bait 50 yds away isn't part of the pattern. The sense of power, control, and comfort you get from this reel is top notch.
