Saltiga is still the king of surf fishing, December 23, 2011 By  Moonlight - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Saltiga Surf Spinning Reels (Misc.) Forget about the Stella, Saltiga is still the king os surf fishing. The more expensive Saltiga blue series is good and better geared, but like the Stella, way too heavy (almost 2 lbs) for long hour surf fishing. This light-weight yet strong saltiga surf spinning reel when combined with the Saltiga ballistic rod is the most powerful combo for surf fishing. One can easily tell when surf fishing non-stop for 4 hours. With the lighter gear, you can really last for 4 hours standing and fighting fish. One thing is, if Daiwa can be a bit more generous with a spare spool then it will be perfect.
