This review is from: Daiwa Saltist 6500H Saltwater Spinning Reels (Misc.) This reel was amazing, it held up great under heavy use! I used it blue fishing for the first time and caught seven 15-20 pound blues, more then any one else by far. The high gear ratio with 51" per reel helped keep my jig at the right speed, very fast! You must have strong hands and arms for big fighting fish because the high gear leaves you with very little torque to get the fish in. I have only used this reel once and can not tell you about reliability. Overall I am super satisfied with this reel, really smooth and fast retrieve, it can take a beating and keep working perfectly, can't wait to put it to the test again!
