Great affordable reel, May 13, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Daiwa Legalis 155 Yards 4 Line Spinning Reel (Light) (Sports) Ordered this to put on a Shimano Scimitar for an ultralight setup for freshwater and a little bit of saltwater use. Was looking for something a little cheaper since I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to commit to being a big freshwater guy. Very impressed with the quality and build.
I was a little disappointed that theres some friction in the reel but with 7 bearings that can't really be avoided. Unlike, say, a super cheap reel that will spin forever when you give it a good fling because there's one garbage bearing and you can watch it flop around, but also not like the top of the line Quantums and stuff where they use better (and more expensive) bearings. But what does that even matter, you can't even notice the difference fishing. My only complaint is that when the bail is open after a cast it is very hard to get it to close with just the reel. I guess the spring in there is a little stiff or something. I also had a few line twist issues, but you're always going to... Read more
